When I approached Lou a couple of weeks ago about writing a blog on the Selden Hills website and he thought it was a good idea, I was very excited for several reasons. First, it is an opportunity for Dr. James Gucciardi and me to share our knowledge and expertise regarding injuries, strengthening, rehabilitation, conditioning, etc. as it relates to running. This brings us to the second reason; assisting the Selden Hills Warriors with their running-related questions or concerns to help you recover from injury and/or become improved runners. And lastly, by doing so, it allows us to hone our skills as sports rehab doctors. It is a win-win situation for all of us because we can get a better pulse regarding what information runners find valuable and deliver that information to the group to help you all become better runners. That being said, we thought it would be a good idea to formerly introduce ourselves and tell the group a little about our background and what we do as sports chiropractors for our first blog.
Dr. Gucciardi and I are the co-owners of Champion Performance Chiropractic Rehabilitation in East Setauket. We opened our family and sports rehab practice in December 2010. We both graduated chiropractic college in 2002 and worked as associates for several years until we decided to open our own facility based on a similar vision that we both had. Over the years, we have continually strived to stay abreast on the most current topics in the field of sports healthcare, including assessment, treatment, exercise, and rehabilitation protocols through continuing education. Our goal is to provide the highest quality chiropractic and rehabilitation services to help our patients achieve optimal results. We strongly believe in the value of one-on-one, hands-on care to treat neuromusculoskeletal and sports related injuries. As active individuals ourselves, we know how important it is to help people quickly resolve what is holding them back so they can return to the activities they enjoy.
We would like to thank Lou, Michelle, and the rest of the Selden Hills Warriors for this opportunity and for taking the time to read the information here and in subsequent blogs. We appreciate any feedback and encourage interaction including questions, advice, and ideas on topics for future posts.
Godspeed to you all! See you on the Hills!!!

Welcome Ken!! You have helped many of us Warriors already including my wife Nancy. I know this will be the start of a wonderful relationship with your practice and the athletes in our group. And I know you do not hesitate to give free advice at races you attend while competing or during your free stretch outs at your Champion Performance tent at various events.
May we all stay healthy and strong as we train and compete. And if we break down it’s nice to know we have a friend and fellow Warrior to rely upon.
It is our pleasure to help any way we can. We look forward to continue to forge our relationship with the Warriors!
